As much as we might want to, we cannot spend all our time in the shed creating new brews. Sometimes we have to go out and show them off.
We've been out and about recently bringing our brews to the public. The North Island has been well and truly covered by our team attending fairs and festivals from Hawkes Bay to Fielding.
First up was a biggie, Beervana, which is New Zealand's biggest premiere beer festival with over 60 international and local breweries, our newest addition McVal was making her debut and was incredibly well received hitting the top of the People's Choice Leaderboard. It was awarded 31st place in the overall rankings out of a field of over 300 beers. This was an awesome weekend and it was great to meet and make so many new fans.
We then spent 4 days at The Festival, Pukeora Estate in Central Hawkes Bay where we completely sold out of McVal and made a sizeable dent in our other stock. McVal's whisky infusion has proved popular with the public. Named of course for one of our great champions who has won a host of medals: Commonwealth Gold, Olympic Gold and World Champs Gold at Youth, Junior and Senior levels. A superstar who achieved every honour, rising above all challengers including those needing "artificial assistance".
We then found ourselves at the Fielding Christmas and Craft market where McVal was a crowd pleaser once more. Not far from our homebase in Masterton, this was an awesome event and we had a great time consorting with lots of other creators as well as our adoring public.
We finished our North Island tour at the Central Districts Wine and Food Show in Palmerston North where we were selling Christmas Hampers, the perfect gift idea for the hophead in your life! These went down a treat and we found ourselves and our stock had almost run out of juice, it was time to head back to the shed and get brewing again.
