Audacious 1.jpg
Audacious

Our 1982 Comm Games gold medalist, women's 5000m world record holder and 3 time Olympian was one of the pioneers of the lucrative road running circuit in the USA during the 80s.

Her focus on making a living from this growing professional section of the sport did not endear her to the stuffy NZ amateur athletics administrators of the time who labelled her "audacious".

This traditional beer has a golden punchy attitude made with hops grown by us right here in Masterton.

Kwaxie

Kwaxie was the leader of the "Flying Kiwis", who dominated the European track circuit in the early ‘70s. He won silver medals at both the Commonwealth and Olympic Games and became a world record holder over 5000m in 1977.

Smooth chocolatey notes on the front palate, cola in the background. Much like its namesake, Kwaxie is bold and brash on the track, but charming and sophisticated off it.

warka

Imagine yourself packed into the athletics stadium in Göteborg, Sweden—20,000 fans chanting "Warka, Warka, Warka”—as our kiwi legend charges down the home straight to be the first man to break 3:50.

This traditional English-style pale ale will see you charge for more. We have added our very own New Zealand pepper tree, Kawakawa, to inspire and excite you. Just as Warka delivered over 100 sub-four-minute miles, this kiwi classic delivers time and time again.

MCVAL

This big bopper has won a host of medals: Commonwealth Gold, Olympic Gold and World Champs Gold at Youth, Junior and Senior levels.  She was a superstar who achieved every honour, rising above all challengers including those needing "artificial assistance".

McVal's whiskey infusion provides the strength and smoothness you would expect from this decorated champion.

PETER WHO

A commentator at the 1960 Rome Olympics exclaimed, "Peter Who from New Zealand? This guy won’t make it past the first round." Four days later, the 28th ranked dark horse Peter Who smoked them all. With his dynamic finish, Peter Who won three Olympic gold medals, two Empire Games gold medals and a pile of world records.

Made with a blend of roasted malts and American hops, the dark colour and smokiness will attract the same tough, hard working kiwis who can handle running 100 miles a week.

BONEY

A toast to a New Zealand athlete who became the world record holder and 1936 Olympic champion in the 1500 metres. Many claimed that he appeared to be running on air.  This classic Pilsner is simply smooth and extremely enjoyable, just like our champion in 1936.

A traditional Czech style pilsner—fresh, crisp and soft on the palate. A champion all the way.
